Any club member attending an
event or rally organised by, or co-ordinated by, the Club should have a
reasonable idea of what to expect from the Club on their arrival at the site and
by the same measure everyone should have an understanding of what the Club will
expect from them. To this end the
Club will endeavour to keep members informed of the type of event they will be
attending at any times, for example; family orientated, steam, classic cars,
autojumble, informal club holiday weekend etc.
Members will also be informed of what the Club will expect from them;
especially at events with outside organisers.
These expectancies will be based on Club promotion at events and outside
organiser’s aspirations.
Rallies organised outside of
the P.C.C.C.
Outside event organisers tend
to follow the guidelines of a rolling 25 years to determine what is acceptable
as a classic vehicle, with the general inclusion of specialist built or limited
edition models that may not match the 25-year criteria.
When club stands are allocated, whatever the club, there is a general
expectancy from organisers that clubs will provide them with relevant exhibits.
When it comes to caravans they
are expecting 25 years and older along with relevant tow vehicles of the period
as well as any additional displays of nostalgia shown on the stand. It is important for us as a Club that we meet these
expectations as well as we can, not only in providing the organisers with what
they want but also, in promoting the Club in the best possible way.
Members attending rallies
organised outside of the Period & Classic caravan Club
In pursuit of event organisers
aspirations, and the best promotion of the Club at such events, members are
expected, when at outside organised rallies, to park modern towing vehicles off
the Club stand, and to keep any period towing vehicle on the Club stand with
their caravan, and not to move it to a one-make, or other, car club stand.
Members would also be expected to spend a little time at their caravan
each day when the public are looking around, so they may be able to answer
questions on caravan, tow vehicle or Club to anyone who shows an interest,
promoting the good fellowship within the Club.
The Club seeks co-operation
from its members to maintain a good club stand allocation, not placing the Club
in a position whereby the size of the club stand gets reduced at any event due
to the number of interested parties or quality of exhibit.
The club looks to members coming onto the Club stand to make every effort
to ensure their caravan or tow vehicle is in a clean and tidy condition.
The club is perfectly happy,
however, to allow members’ tow vehicles to have their own-make car club
membership forms, literature etc. beside it as long as it doesn’t take
precedence over the Period & Classic Caravan Club promotional and membership
material.
The club looks for membership
co-operation when making bookings for an event.
The Club doesn’t want members on the Club stand who have joined the
Club as a means of avoiding using the campsite when they come to display their
vehicle on another club stand.
Events co-ordinator or steward
for the event can clarify any areas of concern.
The Club is a club built on friendship through joint interests and will
try to accommodate members where they can.
